Maude Barlow  - Postponed to future date due to scheduling conflict

Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada's largest public advocacy organization, and the founder of the Blue Planet Project, working internationally for the right to water. She serves on the boards of the San Francisco-based International Forum on Globalization and Washington-based Food and Water Watch and is a Councillor with the Hamburg-based World Future Council.

Award-winning actress and humanitarian, Jane Fonda has enjoyed tremendous success as a stage and screen actress in such well known films as "Klute" and "Coming Home". Ms. Fonda now focuses her time on activism and social change - with much of her work devoted to the program she founded in 1995, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. Ms. Fonda chairs this statewide effort to reduce high rates of adolescent pregnancy in Georgia through community, youth and family development, sustainable economic development and legislative advocacy.

Buffy Sainte-Marie  - June 4, 2009

Born on a Cree reservation in Qu'Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan,Buffy Sainte-Marie was adopted and raised in Maine and Massachusetts. She received a Ph.D. in Fine Art from the University of Massachusetts. She also holds degrees in both Oriental Philosophy and teaching, influences which form the backbone of her music, visual art and social activism. Her concern for protecting indigenous intellectual property and her distaste for the exploitation of Native American artists and performers has kept her in the forefront of activism in the arts for forty years. Presently she operates the Nihewan Foundation for Native American Education whose Cradleboard Teaching Project serves children and teachers in eighteen states.

Sue Johanson
She is Canada's well known Sex Educator and Order of Canada recipient,a media personality, public speaker author and columnist. She is well-known for being the host of the high rated TV show, The Sunday Night Sex Show on the Women's Television Network. For over 30 years, she challenged generations with frank and honest discussions about sex education through lectures, radio and television in Canada and the U.S
 

Janet Kestin
Janet is currently Co-chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy and Mather. She is an icon in the Canadian advertising field. Known for creating the video virals for Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty, she changed the public and media's perception of beauty. Her videos, Onslaught and Evolution are on YouTube and have been seen by over 500,000 people

 

Susan Aglukark
As one of Canada's unique artists, three-time Juno Award Winner and singer/songwriter, Susan Aglukark is not only known for her distinctive music but she has rapidly become known as an uplifting motivational speaker and mentor, able to reach both youth and adult audiences alike. Susan has also become well-known for her work with Aboriginal and Inuit youth. In 2005 Susan was awarded the Order of Canada for her contribution to Canadian music and for her work as a mentor in the Aboriginal community.

Gloria Steinem
Gloria is an American feminist, icon, journalist and women's rights advocate. She is the founder and original publisher of Ms. Magazine. She travels the world as an organizer and lecturer and is a frequent media spokeswoman on issues of equality.
