Message from the Executive Director of Interim Place, Cindy Cowan Dear Friends and Supporters, On behalf of the women and children of Interim Place, I would like to thank all who have supported our Her Life Her Words Speaker Series over the past number of years. This year we have decided to introduce new creative approach to our signature fundraiser by presenting women with great creative skill and talent who tell their stories through the Creative Arts. This year's performers include Speaker, Author and Poet, Dini Petty on March 29, 2011 at On the Curve Restaurant and Award-winning Canadian EMI Recording Artist and Speaker, Amy Sky on April 20, 2011 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. I would also like to thank all our Sponsors, the general public and all our volunteers and staff at Interim Place for their ongoing support and dedication to Interim Place. We anticipate a fabulous series event this year but acknowledge that we can be successful without your involvement. The purpose of this event is both to fundraise as well as to build awareness of the critical nature of the issues of violence, poverty and homelessness that women and children in the Region face annually. Our goal is to mitigate violence against women through responsive, accessible services and supports, public education, action and advocacy to address the social, economic and political conditions that create violence in the lives of women and children. We encourage you to join us on March 29, 2011 at On the Curve and on April 20, 2011 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga in support of our essential programs and services for women and children fleeing violence.
